controversial post maybe but i think if you don't need a psychiatric evaluation to get breast implants then you shouldn't need one to get top surgery

this is kind of an unrelated rant but i do also think western society has a weird fixation on Breasts™️ like ive heard countless stories of people trying to get breast reductions and the drs refusing to do it or purposefully doing it wrong (ie taking them down to a c-cup when they wanted to be an a-cup) people were legit angry/upset when angelina jolie got her mastectomy as if she'd personally wronged them there is literally a breast cancer foundation called "save the tatas" as though a woman losing her tits is more important than a woman losing her life. making your breasts bigger is fine but making them smaller or (shock horror!) getting rid of them is considered deeply strange. and i think that's why top surgery is viewed as some kind of hideous irrevocable mutilation by so many people, because they have this bizarre need to treat an ordinary body part that approx. 50% of the population has as either public property or a symbol of Divine Womanhood or whatever the fuck. it's so stupid i hate it

It’s so hard not to vaguepost in varying social spaces sometimes. I want people that are contributing to me feeling like shit to know what they’re doing, and I want to verbally slam certain types of people in different spaces sosososo badly but I know it’s not healthy. There’s so much I wanna say and scream and crack my skull in over, I’m tired and still angry about having a wellness check called on me last year

I...tried to make a meme and got carried away and made A Thing that is like partially unfinished because i spent like 3 hours on it and then got tired.

I think this is mostly scientifically accurate but truth be told, there seems to be relatively little research on succession in regards to lawns specifically (as opposed to like, pastures). I am not exaggerating how bad they are for biodiversity though—recent research has referred to them as "ecological deserts."

Feel free to repost, no need for credit

do you guys want to know one of the coolest things ever btw. i'm going to tell you either way i just like to give you the illusion of choice

when anteaters find an anthill they don't just stick their face in and slurp with reckless abandon. they leave behind enough ants to rebuild the ant society and also don't eat queens. they're not just hunting the ants they are essentially farming them. isn't that the coolest

A reply from @riggedbones reading "ant hack that generates infinite ants..."ALT

if you reblog this post without my anteater fact i hate you. it's the most important part.

this headline should be “police kill innocent child in reckless firebombing”

The innocent boy’s name is Brett Rosenau. He was 15 years old, not 14 like some news outlets have reported. Here is a link to donate to his funeral expenses. His father, whom Brett is named after, was shot by police on December 31st, 2006. He was 24 years old and his son was months away from being born.

His mother Amanda Lopez has lost both her partner and son at the hands of police.

Oh this is so much worse than that.

They were looking for a man that had violated his probation when Brett went inside after him.

Police KNEW Brett was in the house, he was hiding (for obvious reasons. His father had been killed by the same police department years earlier at the age of 24). In an attempt to get Brett and the suspect out, they were periodically throwing in flash bangs and smoke grenades.

After one (There’s mixed reports on whether it was a flash bang or a smoke grenade) the house was on fire for 40 minutes before the suspect came running out with burn injuries.

The boy was found after the fire was put out, and he died of smoke inhalation. The home owner lost everything including one of their two pet dogs.

Although police were quick to state this week that the younger Rosenau “was not shot by anyone,” the boy’s death is the latest in many instances of deaths connected to Albuquerque police. In 2014, the Justice Department found Albuquerque cops “engaged in a pattern or practice of excessive force that violates the Constitution and federal law.”

The police are excusing slow response time in dealing with the fire by saying they couldn’t tell where the smoke was coming from.

Did I mention that one of the cops that handled the raid was also one of the cops involved of the police killing Brett’s father of the same name?

And let me add, police were throwing in smoke grenades and flash bangs knowing full well that child was inside the house. Imagine how terrifying it was for the kid!

“Nobody shot him, we just barricaded him inside and set his house on fire and then let it burn for forty minutes!”
